Abstract
A joint taskforce between the Sub-Committee (Brake Linings) of the J-SAE and the Technical Committee (Brake Linings) of the JAPIA has from 1999 through 2003 been conducting actual test runs of “Compressibility of Brake Linings” based on ISO 6310-1981 and -2001, and JIS D 4413-1986 and -1998.
The studies on “Compressibility of Brake Linings” based on ISO and JIS test standards are discussed in this paper and some considerable improvements for these test procedures have been obtained through these test studies and actual test runs.
