Abstract
Thermoforming foam products for automotive applications have been emerging as an important market. It has been replacing die cut parts for better sealing or easy assembly, welding products for good performance, and injection parts for cost effectiveness. The other advantages of thermoforming foam technology include low tooling cost, fast product development cycle, flexibility for OEM or Tier 1 suppliers' system integration. This paper discusses thermoforming foam technology for some automotive applications.
