Abstract
Integrated Starter Alternators with Damping functions (ISAD's) are ideally suited to satisfy the increasing demand for electrical power. Features such as stopstart, boost and efficient power generation increase comfort and environmental compatibility at the same time and thus increase the interest of potential car buyers. In this paper a short and light weight system is presented that fits passenger cars from the small-size category to the luxury class as well as for commercial vehicles.
