We developed a new multi-link front suspension for the following purposes: to enable the same platform to be shared with other strut suspension vehicles, to improve NVH performance substantially and to increase the potential for ride and handling performance. This new multi-link suspension has an all-new structure consisting of struts and upper links that are optimally arranged. The major features of this new suspension include the following mechanisms: a lower placed upper link with a ball joint mounted to the suspension member, a third link and a strut bottom bracket with a new design and a member insulator with a new structure.
