Abstract
Sustainability is becoming a mainstream business issue, which has been promoted, in the United Kingdom, by the Government's development of a Strategy for Sustainability. In response to the challenge of bringing sustainability down to an easily understandable issue, which business can apply to their mainstream decision-making, a management information tool SPeAR™ has been developed to demonstrate the sustainability of a project, product or organisation.
The use of SPeAR™ is demonstrated by the case study of Jaguar's refurbishment of the Halewood Plant formerly used by Ford for the production of the Escort. It demonstrates how sustainability can now be monitored in a meaningful way.
