Abstract
A numerical simulation system of airflow around the Car Body is introduced. It involves the basic equations, the application of FVM, the staggered grid system, and the dispose of boundary conditions and so on. In this paper, the application is given and the technological treatments corresponding to the computation are also discussed. The airflow around a test car model with no wheels is simulated and compare with experimental results in order to validate a simulation method of the flow field and the pressure distributions on the surface of the car. The calculation results and the experimental results show reasonable agreement.
