Abstract
Recently, there has been continuous demand to minimize
crankshaft journal and pin diameter to improve fuel economy. Up to
now, many efforts have been made to compensate for increase noise
and vibration. There are many studies to improve crankshaft and
power plant vibration characteristics individually, but few
examples to look into the relationship between crankshaft and power
plant.
This paper addresses the way to minimize 200-500Hz vibration
level about L4 1.5L gasoline engine. Key point is to improve the
relationship between journal excitation force caused by crankshaft
resonance and power plant resonance mode shape.
