Human Horizons debuts HiPhi 1: a 5G-V2X-enabled electric, luxury SUV

Shanghai-based Human Horizons has unveiled a premium all-electric smart brand, HiPhi – which caters to a luxury-minded, ecologically-responsible, high-tech market. The brand’s first production-ready prototype vehicle, HiPhi 1, is a premium supercar-inspired electric SUV equipped with – according to Human Horizons – the first instance of 5G-V2X, or Vehicle-to-Everything connectivity.

5G-V2X is enabled by combining the latest V2X modules supporting LTE-Vehicle connectivity over the existing mobile network infrastructure with 5G communications and allows the vehicle and any device or system the vehicle could connect with to communicate back and forth. It is a catch-all term for combined Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I), Vehicle-to-Network (V2N), Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P), Vehicle-to-Device (V2D), and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) systems.



Beyond its connectivity features, the HiPhi1 expresses the brand’s focus on sustainability. The vehicle utilizes lightweight hybrid-aluminum construction and the interior incorporates sustainable materials and fabrics like vegan leather, natural fibers, recycled polyester, ocean waste yarns, and recycled suede.

HiPhi 1 also uses the world's first Human Oriented Architecture (HOA), featuring a software-developer-enabled platform within the electric and electrical (E/E) architecture, which allows functions to be created that are both adaptive and self-learning. Together these provide a new level of customer experience that can continuously evolve over time.
