Multi-Functional Connector System

Hirose (Simi Valley, CA) has developed a 2-mm pitch, multi-functional connector system that provides wire-to-board, board-to-board joint and short-circuit sockets in a single connector design. The DF59 connector is ideal for the LED market and other applications that require a small connector, such as battery connections, small DC motor drives, and power supplies. The DF59 has a swing lock, which utilizes positive and friction locks, giving wire-to-board type connections cable pull-force resistance. The low mated height of 2.5 mm and overall size of 8 x 9 mm is ideal for bright lighting where many narrowly mounted LEDs are used.
