NextSeminars for the university community and external partners

Carnegie Mellon University Classroom Seminar

An introductory review of the laser sintering process and the EOS M290 equipment will be provided. The basic principles of materials selection, powder spreading and process control will be discussed. The course includes eight hours of on-site instruction scheduled as four hours on each of two consecutive days as well as the production of standard parts using a design chosen by CMU.

During this session, participants will be instructed on how to set up a build, use Magics software, load the design file into the machine, set the machine parameters, set up the build chamber and start the build. Participants will also be instructed on how to extract the part from the machine and perform all post processing. Each participant will be given one part to take at the end of the session.
