Abstract
The work carried out at Centro Ricerche Fiat (CRF) and ELASIS
relating to the application of a computational predictive tool,
based on the Finite Element Method (FEM), for the simulation of
vibrational and acoustic behavior of the powertrain during the
running conditions, is described.
The close integrating of the experimental and computational work
and the good resulting comparison between experimental and
numerical data are discussed.
Finally, a realistic case study which involves different
structural modifications is presented. The methodological approach
followed during the research and the good results obtained are
shown.
