Abstract
In the paper, a general procedure to optimize the design of an externally fired combined cycle solution is introduced. A parametric analysis is also presented in order to define both theoretical and practical working limits of an indirectly gas fired turbine (IFGT), discussing its main advantages in term of efficiency, heat rate and, in case, heat process production.
