Abstract
The Application Generator (AG) is an integrated hardware/software platform being used to develop process control software and algorithms for the Space Station Freedom. One of the major strengths of the AG is its ability to simulate real-time plant models, the method used to test control software prototypes. This paper gives a brief overview of the AG, describes the detailed plant model of an oxygen generator/carbon dioxide reduction closed oxygen loop ECLSS, and provides a discussion of the results produced from various oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production load models. Also included is a discussion of assumptions regarding metabolic loads, effects of CO2 reduction efficiencies, and crew activities.
