Abstract
This paper analyses the response of a 5-DOF vehicle model to nonstationary random excitation by using “covariance equivalent” modelling and the evolutionary spectral method on the basis of the results obtained by former researchers. An analytical evolutionary spectral field is drawn and compared with an experimental power spectral field. The results of this paper show that the evolutionary spectral analysis by using “covariance equivalent” modelling is a promising method for studying nonstationary random vibration problem of vehicles.
