Road Load Data Analysis on Board the Vehicle-Experience, Examples and Future Requirements

Abstract
This paper draws on the authors' experience with microprocessor-based units for service load data analysis on-board the vehicle. It includes a historical overview of on-board analysers, and an outline of the development of a specific unit for driveline components. Examples are given in the text of the use of the in-house developed unit, together with some thoughts on the future applications of such devices.
