Abstract
This Battle Damage Repair Program is primarily concerned with repairs to any segment of damaged wiring between the flight control computers and the flight control servo actuators. The objectives of the project were to define a repair method of bypassing damaged wiring, devise a general repair procedure, and fabricate a repair kit applicable to the F/A-18. The BDR kit consists of two prototype ribbon cable applicators and typical ribbon cable-to-aircraft connector adapter assemblies. Validation tests and demonstrations of the cable applicator proved that the BDR concept is valid and feasible for the F/A-18.
