Abstract
This paper describes a method used as a catalyst to stimulate a fresh approach in apportioning engineering resources for reaching reliability goals, it uses manufacturing costs and warranty per claim, to subdivide established reliability goals and apportion responsibility. This provides a philosophical base to goal apportionment that allocates goals and resources according to inherent reliability and customer grief.
