Abstract
NEC has developed a CMOS single-chip microcomputer, μPD78312, for real-time processing applications. μPD78312 is designed to meet the demand which requires high performance and many functions for automotive electronics systems.
μPD78312, a member of μCOM-78K family, is the next generation controller that evolved from μCOM-87 family (μPD7811G, μPD78C11G etc). It integrates multi-functional input/output facilities for a real-time processing of data that is necessary in automotive systems. The software overhead for real-time processing is reduced by utilizing a new concept called Macro Service which is one of interrupt functions.
In this paper, applications of multi-functional input/output facilities for automotive electronics systems are described.
