Abstract
In this paper, we have studied a stiffness parameter concept for evaluating material substitution for body panels. An analytical approach to determine the stiffness parameter for a given body panel is presented. A roof assembly of a production car was used as a case study. The experimental results for the stiffness requirement are obtained and used as a base for comparison.
