Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to review the fundamentals of kinematics and kinetics as applied to engines. Inertia loading due to dynamic unbalance will be investigated, and methods for reducing the unbalance or minimizing its consequence will be discussed. Equations for primary and secondary inertia vibrations will be developed for both single-cylinder and multi-cylinder engines.
