Abstract
This paper gives the research and experimental results on the effect of various spraying technological parameters on the properties, the micro structure of the plasma sprayed coatings of D9 (coated), S7 (sintered) and stellundum 52F tungsten carbide-cobalt powders. Metallographic and X-ray diffraction analysis were made to evaluate the structure of the coatings. Microhardness and bonding strength was also made among D9, S7 and 52F coatings. Decarbonization of the tungsten carbide-cobalt powder and the approaches of improving the quality of the coatings were also discussed.
