Abstract
Proper control of governor, clutch and propeller shaft brakes can minimize engine, gear and clutch loading, and aid in preventing engine stalling. The requirement is particularly apparent in the high output diesel engines of 500 to 10,000 horsepower with turbo-charging and aftercooling.
