Abstract
Using specific examples, the paper discusses the relationship of the Materials Engineer to the value analysis process. As would be expected, the Materials Engineer is involved in nearly all phases from the original analyses to the final phase of technical service. The author concludes that the services of the Materials Engineer must be used to obtain a maximum value product, since all products are made of some material.
