Abstract
Various aspects of feeder air cargo transport operations are discussed. The Fairchild F-27G cargo transport is used as a point of discussion for some of the items in the paper. The F-27G results from the experience of the F-27B cargo model now in use in Alaska. General characteristics of cargo transport design, as well as cargo handling features of the F-27G, are presented. Future trends and attendant problems in the feeder air cargo market are reviewed.
