Abstract
This paper covers the steps involved in designing an automatic transmission fluid which is aimed at the, service station and original fill markets. A discussion of the design targets together with component selection from the standpoint of fluid performance is presented. Also included is a review of the test facilities we have used in developing the data needed for finalizing on a formulation.
