Abstract
Soot oxidation on the nano-scaled SiC-particle filter with surface-oxide layer including single-nano-scaled Pt particles was investigated through experiment. Since the apparent activation energies were almost the same for both cases with and without Pt, the reaction path was not influenced by Pt. However, it was expected that a frequency factor between soot and oxygen (or adsorbed oxygen) should be increased by Pt since the soot oxidation rate in a low temperature range increased drastically for the case of oxide layer with Pt compared with the case without Pt.
