Flooding Simulation for Vehicle Development
Published May 23, 2012 by Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan in Japan
In recent years, the evaluation of flooding performance is not only confirming the durability of a car but also protecting passenger safety. Computer simulation helped solving free-surface phenomenon. However, the simulation was unsteady phenomenon, so it needed a lot of time. In this time, Nissan group applied the CFD simulation of the free-surface phenomenon used for vehicle development and confirmed of the flooding performance from an early phase of development. In this report, methodology development and time reduction of the simulation were discussed.
