Characteristics of Work Load on Form and Draw Forming of Metal Sheet

In this research, we used two types of steel materials and three types of non-ferrous metallic materials to compare and evaluate properties of press working load obtained using three methods of press working (drawing, one-stage form-forming, and two-stage form-forming). The following results are obtained using calculation of working load energy and comparison between mechanical properties and working load energy. On the form-forming method, working load was small because formed material easily move due to fixing only center area of material. The working load on the drawing method is larger than that on the form-forming method because of the larger fixing area. The unbending occurred on the drawing process and the work load increased drastically. The non-ferrous metallic material with low yielding stress was cracked on the drawing. The set of distance-plate on blank holder area was useful method preventing the cracking and decreasing the work load on drawing.
