Abstract
All-terrain vehicles (hereinafter referred to as “ATV”) are used in various environments as recreational vehicles as well as supplementary machines used for agricultural use. Accordingly, the fuel supply systems of ATV must provide high reliability to ensure operation in a severe dust environment, particularly one where the vehicle is exposed to a lot of sand dust and other fine dust particles. Therefore, the non-woven fabric fuel filter, which is a component of the new electronically-controlled fuel injection system for ATV we have commercialized, must provide high dust filtering performance with small filter holes, as well as long filter life, Conventional filters could filter dust particles of 90μm or larger, and therefore they caused the flow rates in the fuel pump to drop due to intrusion of dust. The newly developed high-performance non-woven fabric filter achieves high dust filtering performance and filter life to withstand the severe dust environment to which ATV is exposed. This helped develop a fuel supply system that prevents performance drop in the fuel pump.
