Abstract
A model of the three-way catalyst was constructed on the control system development tool for developing the catalyst degradation monitor system. The experimental equations at the oxygen storage rate and the maximum storage capacity were made by using the actual exhaust gas of the bench examination engine tests. They were applied to the catalyst OSC model. So, we reported the simulation results of the behavior of various degradation catalysts in the exhaust emission by using the model. The simulation results closely replicated the experimental results, revealing that reduction of the oxygen storage capacity is linked to the degradation of catalyst performance.
