Abstract
The work presented in this paper describes the extension of the Lamé problem for elastic-perfectly plastic material using relatively simple formulae. These formulae can be re-created in an Excel spreadsheet and can be a handy tool for engineering applications. The authors are aware that this is an approximation method but because the results are very close to FEA method, it is fully justified to use this approach in day-to-day engineering. The purpose of this paper is to give the steps and approach in the theory and the application of an interference fit problem.
