Abstract
To meet the twin problems of Fuel scarcity and air pollution caused by the growing use of fossil fuels many countries are using alternative renewable, clean burning fuels in motor vehicles. Biodiesel is one of the most important alternative fuels. An attempt has been made in this paper to give an overview of the application of Pongamia biodiesel in CI Engines, by comparing its performance and smoke density with conventional diesel fuel.
