Abstract
Until now, visual and auditory senses are used for information-giving from air conditioner, audio and navigation system in the driver cockpit. In this study, the effectiveness of the blind operation using the tactile sense was examined as one of ""the new operation system.?? We clarified the vibration sensitive characteristics of the finger, and the specification for vibration actuator included in the control panel was decided. The evaluation of the blind operation carried out comparison experiment with the touch operation using cognition workload evaluation system which consisted of effective visual field equipment and drive simulator. The superiority of the blind operation confirmed the experiment in multiple problems, miss response rate and steering deflection angle.
