Abstract
Using state of the art Web technologies, Ford Motor Company has developed a computer application to significantly improve it's Weight Engineering groups' capabilities in performing vehicle level mass analysis, meeting regulatory compliance, and implementing effective weight control and reporting processes. In addition, the Mass Analysis System (MAS) will be used to consolidate the Weight information into a single and common source - to enable efficient and consistent data interpretation and reporting; and global data archiving for regulatory compliance. Its two key modules - Mass Analysis and Projection Validation will drive the integration of pre-production predictive mass models with post-production validation processes.
