Abstract
The writer has a contract from the UK MOD Ordnance Board to produce Draft Editions 2 of NATO STANAGs 4236 and 4327, together with their associated Allied Ordnance Publication (AOP) 25. Draft STANAG 4236 Ed 2 gives Lightning Environments for all Materiel including Aircraft, whilst Draft STANAG 4327 concerns the Lightning Assessment of Munitions. This paper gives the latest position concerning the development of those documents, noting areas where they are at variance with Civilian documents and where the latter are found lacking for UK Military applications.
