Scope
Content
This paper describes a recommended practice and procedure for the correlation of test cells that are used for the performance testing of turboprop and turboshaft engines. This Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) shall apply to both dynamometer and propeller based testing. Test cell correlation is performed to determine the effect of any given test cell enclosure and equipment on the performance of an engine relative to the baseline performance of that engine.
Rationale
Content
Correlations of engine test facilities is required to ensure that the effects of the engine test facility are accounted for in the performance testing of the engine under test. This will ensure that operators are getting good performance measurement of the engines tested in the facility.
This document describes a recommended practice and procedure for the correlation of Turboshaft/Turboprop engine test cells. Correlation of the facility results in the establishment of the required correction factor for the facility and specific engines to be tested.
