AMS6272P Steel Bars, Forgings, and Mechanical Tubing Aircraft-Quality 0.50Cr - 0.55Ni - 0.20Mo (0.15 - 0.20C) (SAE 8617)

AMS6272P is the result of a Five-Year Review and update of the specification. The revision revises the Title to match the Scope, updates composition reporting (see 3.1.2), updates the prohibition on exceptions (see Table 2 and 8.7), revises macrostructure requirements (see 3.3.1 and 8.8), clarifies hardenability requirements (see 3.3.3), addresses qualification to AMS2301 (see 4.2.1 and 4.4.5), adds options for ordering forging stock (see 4.4.3 and 8.8), and adds additional information for ordering bar and mechanical tubing (see 8.6).
