AMS6270S Steel, Bars, Forgings, and Mechanical Tubing and Forging Stock Aircraft Quality 0.50Cr - 0.55Ni - 0.20Mo (0.13 - 0.18C) (SAE 8615)

AMS6270S is the result of a Five-Year Review and update of the specification. The revision revises the Title to match the Scope, updates composition reporting (see 3.1.2), updates the prohibition on exceptions (see Table 2 and 8.8), revises macrostructure requirements (see 3.3.1 and 8.9), clarifies hardenability requirements (see 3.3.3), addresses qualification to AMS2301 (see 4.2.1 and 4.4.5), adds options for ordering forging stock (see 4.4.3 and 8.9), and adds additional information for ordering bar and mechanical tubing (see 8.7).
