Scope

Content: This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of extruded bars, rods, wire, profiles, and tubing up to and including 1.000 inch (25.4 mm) in diameter, least thickness, or tube wall thickness (see 8.7).

Rationale

Content: AMS4156L is the result of a Five-Year Review and update of this specification with changes to address product outside specified size range (1.1, 3.3.2, 4.4.1, 8.7), prohibit unauthorized exceptions (3.6, 4.4.1, 5.1.1, 8.6), allow use of prior revision (8.5), and condition (3.2).
