Lighting systems become more and more complex, due to the search for comfort and security improvement. This evolution is allowed thanks to regulation changes, following the rise of new functions such as Adaptive Front lighting System (A.F.S: Bending light, Motorway lighting,).
The interaction with car architecture is now stronger, as the functions are not only proceeding to the activation of sources, but also using car signals (steering angle, speed, rain…) in order to dynamically adapt the lighting performance.
In order to optimize the development of such systems and ensure their accordance with car architecture, R&D department has developed a system simulation environment and a rapid functional prototyping tool.
This environment allows:
Reducing design and development lead time,
A faster and easier algorithm testing,
Improvement of system reliability.
The paper will illustrate those advantages through some practical examples achieved within Matlab environment.
