Scope
The purpose of this SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) is to standardize the basic design, performance and testing requirements for “Cargo Stoppers” cargo tie-down accessories to be used in conjunction with approved tie-down straps meeting AS5385C requirements.
Rationale
This Aerospace Recommended Practice was developed in order to specify the basic design, performance and testing requirements for cargo tie-down accessories known as “Cargo Stoppers”, which are commonly used but not defined in any applicable standard.

The main, or governing committee, AGE-2, is composed of the most experienced members, mainly from the airlines, airframe manufacturers, and support equipment manufacturers, to provide leadership and guidance for the Membership to implement the work is drawn with reasonable balance from airlines, airframe manufacturers, support equipment manufacturers, and others with special aircraft related expertise. Members serve based on their knowledge, expertise, and experience and not as agents or representatives of any organization.
