Abstract
The study of dynamic behaviour on mechanical components using experimental modal analysis allows the identification of parameters involved in this phenomenon in an objetive and realistic way. The object focused in this work is the homocinetic half-shaft used in F.W.D. passenger cars. The validity and limitation of the software used in this work is verified performing a benchmark with three distinct techniques of manual calculation.
Mapping the influence of the identified parameters (boundary conditions, applied torque, spatial geometric configuration and excitation amplitude) allows a global view the dynamic behaviour of this component and indicates the necessary conditions to obtain representative data from laboratory experiments.
