The Environmental Control Analysis SYstem (EASY) computer program is summarized in this report. Development of this computer program initially was sponsored by the U.S. Air Force Flight Dynamics Laboratory. (See References 1, 2, 3, and 4.) It provides techniques for determination of steady state and dynamic (transient) ECS performance, and of control system stability; and for synthesis of optimal ECS control systems. The program is available from the U.S. Air Force, or as a proprietary commercial version. General uses of a transient analysis computer program for ECS design and development, and general features of EASY relative to these uses, are presented. This report summarizes the nine analysis options of EASY, EASY program organization for analyzing ECS, data input to the program and resulting data output, and a discussion of EASY limitations. Appendices provide general definitions for dynamic analysis, and samples of input and output for EASY

This SAE Recommended Practice applies to a production dynamometer test procedure which can be used to measure the smoke and gaseous emission characteristics of vehicular diesel engines. This procedure describes the smoke emission test method, smoke test cycle, gaseous emission test method, steady-state gaseous emission test cycle, equipment, instrumentation, calibration, data analysis, and correlation of results for comparison of production engine emission performance to the requirements of current or past Federal regulations. Variations in engines, instrumentation, and test equipment may require modifications to these procedures or data reduction methods. The acceptability of this procedure is dependent upon documented statistical data appropriate to correlate all tests, data reduction techniques, and special instrumentation to the required Federal tests. When using the audit test procedure to assess the emissions performance of production engines, considerations should be given to

This standard establishes the basic triangular profile for the MJB thread form, the design profiles, standard pitches, tolerance classes, formulae for tolerances and dimensions, tolerance tables, and a system of designations. Because of the specialized application for buttress threads, no preferred diameter-pitch series have been established for this standard and each application will require use of the thread formulae for dimensions and related tolerances given herein for deriving the thread dimensional requirements

This SAE Standard describes a method for measuring the weighted sound pressure levels at prescribed microphone positions in the proximity of a device or machine for outdoor use, in order to determine compliance with noise limits. The A-weighted sound power level of the source is calculated from the measured values
SLTC - Earth Moving Machinery Sound Level
This SAE Standard describes a method for determining the noise emitted by earthmoving machinery at the operator's position in terms of the equivalent continuous A-weighted sound pressure level while the machine is in a stationary test condition. This SAE Standard is a special test code for specific types of earthmoving machinery. It is an extension of ISO 6081 which contains the general requirements for many types of machinery and equipment. Specific requirements are provided in this special test code to enable the sound pressure level at the operator's position, with the machine in a stationary test condition, to be determined in a manner which is repeatable. Attachments (bucket, dozer, etc.) for the manufacturer's production version shall be fitted since this is the configuration most likely to exist when the machine is in actual use. This document will enable compliance with noise limits to be determined. It can also be used for evaluation purposes in noice reduction investigations

A technical committee shall be responsible for a field of endeavor, as defined by its scope. In cases where projects overlap areas of interest of another council’s committee, the originating committee shall submit the project(s) for review and approval to the other concerned committee and its council prior to issuance. A committee is established when a new major project area is to be undertaken and no existing committee is available. A committee is discharged when the assigned work is completed and there is no further need for its services. The councils retain responsibility for periodic review of technical reports developed by their disbanded committees
