This Recommended Practice is derived from OEM and tier-1 laboratory tests and applies to two-axle multipurpose passenger vehicles, or trucks with a GVWR above 4536 kg (10 000 pounds) equipped with hydraulic disc or drum service brakes. Before conducting testing for a specific brake sizes or under specific test conditions, review, agree upon, and document with the test requestor any deviations from the test procedure. Also, the applicable criteria for the final test results and wear rates deemed as significantly different require definition, assessment, and proper documentation; especially as this will determine whether or not Method B testing is needed. This Recommended Practice does not evaluate or quantify other brake system characteristics such as performance, noise, judder, ABS performance, or braking under extreme temperatures or speeds. Minimum performance requirements are not part of this recommended practice. Consistency and margin of pass/fail of the minimum requirements

This SAE Information Report documents efforts toward developing a test method for the evaluation of hose protection sleeves used in hydraulic fluid power applications. These sleeves are intended for general application and hydraulic systems on industrial equipment and commercial products. These sleeves shall be capable of providing protection to pin hole failures in hydraulic systems operating to working pressures specified by the manufacturer. Hose assembly burst containment is not in the scope of this document
Hydraulic Hose and Hose Fittings Committee
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides guidance for the design and location of cabin crew stations, including emergency equipment installations at or near such stations, to enable the cabin crew to perform effectively in emergency situations, including emergency evacuations. Recommendations regarding design of cabin crew stations apply to all such stations; recommendations regarding location apply to those stations located near or adjacent to floor level exits

This specification covers the design and installation requirements for Type I and II military aircraft hydraulic systems
A-6A2 Military Aircraft Committee
This SAE Standard applies to horizontal earthboring machines of the following types: a Auger boring machines b Rod pushers c Rotary rod machines d Impact machines e Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) machines (tools only) The illustrations used are for classification and are not intended to resemble a particular machine. Only basic working dimensions are given. They may be supplemented by the machine manufacturer. This document is based on existing commercial horizontal earthboring machines. This document does not apply to HDD machines as defined in ISO 21467. It only covers tools used with HDD machines. It also does not apply to specialized mining machinery covered in SAE J1116, Table 1, nor does it apply to conveyors, tunnel boring machines, pipe jacking systems, microtunnelers, or well-drilling machines
MTC9, Trenching and Horizontal Earthboring Machines
This document establishes a procedure for disposition of landing gear components that have been involved in accidents/incidents. The recommendations in this document apply to components made of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. The recommendations in this document do not apply to components made of nonmetallic composite materials
A-5B Gears, Struts and Couplings Committee
SAE J1978-2 specifies a complementary set of functions to be provided by an OBD-II scan tool. These functions provide complete, efficient access to all regulated OBD services on any vehicle that is compliant with SAE J1979-2 and SAE J1979-3 The content of this document is intended to satisfy the requirements of an OBD-II scan tool as required by current U.S. OBD regulations. This document specifies: A means of establishing communications between an OBD-equipped vehicle and an OBD-II scan tool. A set of diagnostic services to be provided by an OBD-II scan tool in order to exercise the services defined in SAE J1979-2. The presentation of the SAE J1978 document family, where SAE J1978-2 covers second generation protocol functionality defined in SAE J1979-2, and SAE J1978-1 covers first generation protocol functionality defined in SAE J1979 and protocol determination for both SAE J1979 and SAE J1979-2. The SAE J1978 document family does not preclude the inclusion of additional capabilities

This document describes guidelines, methods, and tools used to perform the ongoing safety assessment process for transport airplanes in commercial service (hereafter, termed “airplane”). The process described herein is intended to support an overall safety management program. It is associated with showing compliance with the regulations, and also with assuring a company that it meets its own internal standards. The methods identify a systematic means, but not the only means, to assess ongoing safety. While economic decision-making is an integral part of the safety management process, this document addresses only the ongoing safety assessment process. To put it succinctly, this document addresses the “Is it safe?” part of safety management; it does not address the “How much does it cost?” part of the safety management. This document also does not address any specific organizational structures for accomplishing the safety assessment process. While the nature of the organizational
S-18C Ongoing Safety Assessment
This document describes a process that may be used to perform the ongoing safety assessment for (1) GAR aircraft and components (hereafter, aircraft), and (2) commercial operators of GAR aircraft. The process described herein is intended to support an overall safety management program. It is to help a company establish and meet its own internal standards. The process described herein identifies a systematic means, but not the only means, to assess continuing airworthiness. Ongoing safety management is an activity dedicated to assuring that risk is identified and properly eliminated or controlled. The safety management process includes both safety assessment and economic decision-making. While economic decision-making (factors related to scheduling, parts, and cost) is an integral part of the safety management process, this document addresses only the ongoing safety assessment process. This ongoing safety assessment process includes safety problem identification and corrective action

The purpose of this AIR is to establish a baseline for hydrogen fueling protocol and process limits for both gaseous and liquid hydrogen fueling of aircraft (eCTOL, eRotor, eVTOL, LTA) at the airport from small aircraft to wide-body. A further goal is to harmonize and establish common aircraft fueling safety definitions wherever possible with other SAE and EUROCAE standards and NFPA codes alike. Hydrogen fueling process limits (including the fuel temperature, the maximum flow rate, time required, etc.) are affected by factors such as ambient temperature, fuel delivery temperature, and initial pressure in the hydrogen storage system. The further goal is to establish basic fueling protocols within these limits as a starting point while evaluating minimum criteria, including evaluation of fueling with or without communications. AIR8466 establishes the protocol and process limits for hydrogen fueling of aircraft and plans to establish fueling protocols starting with small aircraft
