This Recommended Practice is derived from OEM and tier-1 laboratory tests and applies to two-axle multipurpose passenger vehicles, or trucks with a GVWR above 4536 kg (10 000 pounds) equipped with hydraulic disc or drum service brakes. Before conducting testing for a specific brake sizes or under specific test conditions, review, agree upon, and document with the test requestor any deviations from the test procedure. Also, the applicable criteria for the final test results and wear rates deemed as significantly different require definition, assessment, and proper documentation; especially as this will determine whether or not Method B testing is needed. This Recommended Practice does not evaluate or quantify other brake system characteristics such as performance, noise, judder, ABS performance, or braking under extreme temperatures or speeds. Minimum performance requirements are not part of this recommended practice. Consistency and margin of pass/fail of the minimum requirements
Truck and Bus Hydraulic Brake Committee
This SAE Information Report documents efforts toward developing a test method for the evaluation of hose protection sleeves used in hydraulic fluid power applications. These sleeves are intended for general application and hydraulic systems on industrial equipment and commercial products. These sleeves shall be capable of providing protection to pin hole failures in hydraulic systems operating to working pressures specified by the manufacturer. Hose assembly burst containment is not in the scope of this document
Hydraulic Hose and Hose Fittings Committee
This specification covers an aircraft-quality, low-alloy steel in the form of sheet, strip, and plate
AMS E Carbon and Low Alloy Steels Committee
This specification covers an aircraft-quality nitriding grade low-alloy steel in the form of bars, forgings, mechanical tubing, and forging stock
AMS E Carbon and Low Alloy Steels Committee
This specification covers an alpha-beta Ti-6Al-4V alloy produced by laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) additive manufacturing and subjected to hot isostatic press (HIP) operation. Typically, this material is used for complex-shaped aerospace products made to near net shape dimensions. These products have been used typically for parts requiring operating strength up to 750 °F (399 °C), but usage is not limited to such applications
AMS AM Additive Manufacturing Metals
This specification covers established inch/pound manufacturing tolerances applicable to carbon steel bars ordered to inch/pound dimensions. These tolerances apply to all conditions, unless otherwise noted. The term “excl” applies only to the higher figure of the specified range
AMS E Carbon and Low Alloy Steels Committee
This specification covers a carbon steel in the form of sheet and strip
AMS E Carbon and Low Alloy Steels Committee
This specification covers an aircraft-quality, low-alloy steel in the form of bars, forgings, mechanical tubing, and forging stock
