This SAE Recommended Practice describes an empirical method for determining the theoretical ash content of aviation piston engine lubricating oils by calculating the equivalent weight of metallic oxides formed at 775 °C based on the metallic elemental concentration. The calculation method of ash determination may be used as an alternate to ASTM D 482 for application to the standards for aviation piston engine lubricating oils.

E-25 General Standards for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems
This AIR lists and describes a collection of regulations, policy, and guidance documents applicable to design approval applicants, aircraft operating certificate holders, and maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) organizations. The aircraft industry should consider these rules when installing IVHM technology for use in aircraft maintenance. This is a starting basis and should not be considered as complete when certification of an IVHM system is expected. The AIR’s objectives are: 1 To set the foundation for aircraft certification applicants seeking to design IVHM solutions as part of the type certificate (TC), supplemental type certificate (STC), amended TC, or amended STC activities; and 2 To set the foundation for aircraft operating certificate holders to engage with regulators to get authorization for using IVHM applications as part of an aircraft maintenance program. NOTE: This AIR’s scope is limited to the United States (U.S.) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) information only

This specification establishes the requirements for the (TBS) jet fuel starter for the (TBS) gas turbine engine used in the (TBS) aircraft.
AE-6 Starting Systems and Auxiliary Power Committee
This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) is intended to assist in evaluating the serviceability of damaged hydraulic tubing lines. The performance requirements are outlined to which the defect samples were tested. Test methods and data are described and summarized. Permissible defect limits are listed for 6061-T6 aluminum return lines, 3000 psi hydraulic tubing of 21Cr-6Ni-9Mn SS, 304 1/8 hard, corrosion resistant steel (CRES), as well as 3Al-2.5V CWRS and 3Al-2.5V annealed, seamless titanium tubing. All dimensions are in inches unless otherwise noted.

The purpose of this Standard is to provide installation dimensions for shaft nuts and their companion keywasher. The Standard type typically shown on MS9951 and MS9952, but is also suitable for parts which are dimensionally equivalent.
E-25 General Standards for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems
This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) establishes the standard installation procedures and torque values for the AS short flareless hydraulic tube fittings in sizes -20 and -24, and parts listed in this standard, made from 6A1-4V Titanium, 15-5 PH CRES, and 7075 Aluminum Alloy.

G-10T Laser Safety Hazards Committee
This Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides guidance for the design of an integrated vehicle health management (IVHM) capability that will extend the vehicle’s inherent design to enable health management of the platform and its components. This guidance is technology-independent; the principles are generally applicable to the majority of potential IVHM design scenarios, including “clean sheet” system design, where IVHM is considered as a primary design consideration, and the retrofit design, where existing systems are modified and leveraged with the IVHM capability. In either case, this ARP provides guidance for designing the IVHM capability from the feasibility assessment to the conceptual design analysis and to the development design phases, with considerations given to trade studies, metrics, and life cycle impacts.

Side stands and center stands are designed to support stationary two-wheel motorcycles. This SAE Standard establishes procedures for determining parking surface loading and stability limits as follows: a The footprint pressure exerted on a horizontal parking surface by the stand. b The tilt angle of the parking surface at which tip-over occurs. c The tilt angle of the parking surface at which roll-off occurs.
Motorcycle Technical Steering Committee
The purpose of this SAE Recommended Practice is to provide dimensions for both standard and thin-wall hoses and to provide commercial and precision tolerances for SAE 20R3 and SAE 20R4 coolant system hoses.
Non-Hydraulic Hose Committee
This SAE Recommended Practice establishes equipment and procedures for testing spark arresters used on medium-size, single-position internal combustion engines, normally used in transportable, stationary, and vehicular applications, such as highway trucks, agricultural tractors, industrial tractors, other mobile equipment, and motorcycles. This document provides two methods of testing (laboratory testing and engine testing) which may be used to evaluate a spark arrester. It also includes special requirements for screen type devices and an endurance test procedure for screen type spark arresters.
Engine Power Test Code Committee
This SAE Recommended Practice establishes equipment and procedures for the evaluation of the effectiveness and other performance characteristics of spark arresters or turbochargers used on the exhaust system of large engines normally used in a railroad locomotive, stationary power plant, and other similar applications. This document does not cover applications requiring flame arresting, exhaust gas cooling, or isolation from explosive gases. Two test methods are presented: a laboratory test using ambient air (cold test) and an engine test using exhaust gases (hot test). The hot test is preferred. Arresters tested by the provisions of this document can be expected to perform as tested when tilted no more than 45 degrees from their normal position. Test results from a spark arrester or turbocharger evaluated by the hot test can be applied to different engines of similar design, provided the data shows it to be effective in the applicable flow ranges. AMS CE Elastomers Committee
This SAE Recommended Practice defines a method for implementing a bidirectional, serial communications link over the vehicle power supply line among modules containing microcomputers. This document defines those parameters of the serial link that relate primarily to hardware and software compatibility such as interface requirements, system protocol, and message format that pertain to Power Line Communications (PLC) between Tractors and Trailers. This document defines a method of activating the trailer ABS Indicator Lamp that is located in the tractor.

Road Illumination Devices Standards Committee
This SAE Recommended Practice (RP) describes a test method for determination of heavy truck (Class VI, VII, and VIII) tire force and moment properties under straight-line braking conditions. The properties are acquired as functions of normal force and slip ratio using a sequence specified in this practice. At each normal force increment, the slip ratio is continually changed by application of a braking torque ramp. The data are suitable for use in vehicle dynamics modeling, comparative evaluations for research and development purposes, and manufacturing quality control. This document is intended to be a general guideline for testing on an ideal machine. Users of this RP may modify the recommended protocols to satify the needs of specific use-cases; e.g., reducing the recommended number of test loads and/or pressures for benchmarking purposes. However, due care is necessary when modifying the protocols to maintain data integrity.
