This standard specifies basic and high performance test methods and requirements for round, screened and unscreened, multi-core sheathed cables intended for use in road vehicle applications. The unscreened, single-core cables shall be in accordance with ISO 6722, SAE J1127, SAE J1128, SAE J1654, SAE J1678, or SAE J2183. Other cores may be used, but in these cases, the construction and tests required to ensure functionality of these cores shall be agreed between customer and supplier. See ISO 6722 for temperature classes. ISO 6722 will be needed to perform some of the tests in this standard

The test applies to both, disc and drum type linings commonly used in hydraulic and air brake systems for automotive or commercial vehicle applications. This standard describes two main test procedures. Method A, where the friction material is in contact with a heated surface to simulate the heat input to the pad that occurs during actual usage. Method B uses an oven to heat the freestanding material and is an approximate procedure requiring less instrumentation. Method A is recommended for disc brake pad assemblies, noise insulators, or flat coupons; while Method B is recommended for curved drum brake linings

This report covers engine tests performed in Altitude Test Facilities (ATFs) with the primary purpose of determining steady state thrust at simulated altitude flight conditions as part of the in-flight thrust determination process. As such it is complementary to AIR1703 and AIR5450, published by the SAE E-33 Technical Committee. The gross thrust determined using such tests may be used to generate other thrust-related parameters that are frequently applied in the assessment of propulsion system performance. For example: net thrust, specific thrust, and exhaust nozzle coefficients. The report provides a general description of ATFs including all the major features. These are: Test cell air supply system. This controls the inlet pressure and includes flow straightening, humidity and temperature conditioning. Air inlet duct and slip joint.
