  • Current
Published 2017-10-18 by SAE International in United States
This SAE Standard provides general, dimensional and performance specifications for the most common hoses used in hydraulic systems on mobile and stationary equipment. The general specifications contained in Sections 1 through 12 are applicable to all hydraulic hoses and supplement the detailed specifications for the 100R-series hoses contained in the later sections of this document (see Tables 1 and 2). This document shall be utilized as a procurement document only to the extent as agreed upon by the manufacturer and user. The maximum working pressure of a hose assembly comprising SAE J517 hose and hose connectors per SAE J516, SAE J518, SAE J1453, etc., shall not exceed the lower of the respective SAE maximum working pressure values. When using SAE J517 hose for marine applications, reference SAE J1475, SAE J1942, and SAE J1942-1. The SAE J517 100R9, 100R10, and 100R11 hoses are discontinued due to lack of demand. For DOD orders see Appendix C. The SAE J517 100R1A, 100R2A, 100R2B, and 100R 2BT are discontinued due to lack of demand. For DOD orders replace 100R1A…

Published 2017-10-12 by SAE International in United States
This recommended practice covers minimum requirements for air brake hose assemblies made from reinforced elastomeric hose and suitable fittings for use in automotive air brake systems including flexible connections from frame to axle, tractor to trailer, trailer to trailer and other unshielded air lines with air pressures up to 1 MPa, that are exposed to potential pull or impact. This hose is not to be used where temperatures, external or internal, fall outside the range of -40 to +100 °C.

Published 2017-04-13 by SAE International in United States
This SAE Standard covers general and dimensional specifications for the Code 62 metric (type 1) and inch (type 2) flanged heads, flange clamps (FC and FCM), and split flange clamps (FCS and FCSM) applicable to four-screw flange type tube, pipe, and hose connections. Also included are the recommended port dimensions and port design considerations. Type 2 (inch) flange clamps and split flanges are not for new design. The flanged heads specified are incorporated into fittings having suitable means for attachment of tubes, pipes, or hoses to provide connection ends. These connections are intended for application in hydraulic systems, on industrial and commercial products, where it is desired to avoid the use of threaded connections. The rated working pressure of an assembly shall not exceed the least of all the component working pressure rated values. THE FOLLOWING GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS SUPPLEMENT THE DIMENSIONAL DATA CONTAINED IN THE TABLES WITH RESPECT TO ALL UNSPECIFIED DETAIL. PARTS MANUFACTURED TO THIS STANDARD ARE INTERCHANGEABLE WITH ISO 6162-2 AND CONNECTORS TO EITHER STANDARD CAN BE SUPPLIED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE…
