This SAE Recommended Practice is established for the purpose of providing average weight values for water or calcium chloride liquid filling solutions in SAE recommended drive tire sizes. It is recommended that tires be filled to valve stem level while the valve is located in the highest position.

This SAE Standard establishes loadings, tangential pull values, and inflation pressure relationships for tire sizes and ply ratings currently used on agricultural tractors. Primary purpose of this recommendation is for use with SAE J708 May59. The performance of the tractor is materially affected by tire loadings, tire tangential pull values, and inflation pressure; therefore, it becomes desirable to publish this information.

This SAE Standard gives the specifications and dimensions for the assembly and clearances common to hydraulically-operated cylinders and to trailing-type farm implements. The specifications given permit the interchangeability of hydraulic operation between tractors equipped with a cylinder and trailing-type implements designed for this purpose, the tractor possessing enough power at its drawbar to operate the implement; and the transference of the hydraulic cylinder from one implement to another. This document applies to three categories of agricultural tractors, as follows in Table 1: This standard is the English translation of ISO 2057 dated 1981-11-15, except where indicated by a double asterisk (which indicates a change, an addition, or deletion) and the addition of SAE reference documents where applicable.

Any ROPS meeting the performance requirement of ISO 5700 (Static ROPS Test Standard) or ISO 3463 (Dynamic ROPS Test Standard) meets the performance requirements of this SAE Standard if the ROPS temperature/material and seat belt requirements of this document are also met. Fulfillment of the intended purpose requires testing as follows: A temperature-material requirement (6.9). This can be satisfied by using the appropriate materials or by performing any of the structural performance tests (Sections 7, 8, or 9) at -18 °C. A laboratory test, under repeatable and controlled loading, to permit analysis of the ROPS for compliance with the performance requirements of this document. Either the static test sequence (Section 7) or the impact test sequence (Section 8 ) shall be conducted. See Figure 1. A seat belt anchorage test (Section 10). The test procedures and performance requirements outlined in this document are based on currently available engineering data.

This SAE Standard applies to an overhead cover installed on a protective frame or enclosure conforming to SAE J2194 or alternately SAE J1194 and the following additional requirement of a drop test to verify the effectiveness of the overhead cover in protecting the operator from falling objects. The test procedures and performance requirements outlined in this document are based on currently available engineering data. This document establishes test and performance requirements for overhead protection to minimize the frequency and severity of operator injury due to falling objects encountered in normal operation of a wheeled agricultural tractor.
