This specification establishes the requirements for the following types of self-locking nuts in thread diameter sizes 0.1380 through 0.6250 inch: a Wrenching Nuts: i.e., hexagon, double hexagon, and spline nuts. b Anchor Nuts: i.e., plate nuts, gang channel nuts, and shank nuts. The wrenching nuts, shank nuts, and nut elements of plate and gang channel nuts are made of a corrosion- and heat-resistant nickel-base alloy of the type identified under the Unified Numbering System as UNS N07001 and of 180000 psi axial tensile strength at room temperature, with maximum conditioning of parts at 1400 °F prior to room temperature testing.

This SAE standard establishes the minimum construction and performance requirements for a combination cable consisting of 11 conductors and two twisted pairs for use on trucks, trailers, and dollies for 12 VDC nominal applications in conjunction with SAE J2691 (15 pole connectors.) The cable includes both power and unjacketed SAE J1939-15 paired signal circuits along with dual ground wires to accommodate grounding requirements within the constraints of the SAE J2691 terminal capacity.
Truck and Bus Electrical Systems Committee
This SAE Recommended Practice establishes uniform test procedures and performance requirements for the defrosting system of enclosed cab trucks, buses, and multipurpose vehicles. It is limited to a test that can be conducted on uniform test equipment in commercially available laboratory facilities. For laboratory evaluation of defroster systems, current engineering practice prescribes that an ice coating of known thickness be applied to the windshield and left- and right-hand side windows to provide more uniform and repeatable test results, even though - under actual conditions - such a coating would necessarily be scraped off before driving. The test condition, therefore, represents a more severe condition than the actual condition, where the defroster system must merely be capable of maintaining a cleared viewing area. Because of the special nature of the operation of most of these vehicles (where vehicles are generally kept in a garage or warmed up before driving), and since

This standard will apply primarily to the vehicle classes identified in SAE J3194. It provides a schema for utilizing alphanumeric values to represent identifying information such as the manufacturer or vehicle provider, year of manufacture, model, vehicle type, weight, width, speed, and power source. Although conceptually similar to a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), this standard does not classify or intend to suggest classification of these vehicles as motor vehicles for regulatory or safety data purposes. The location for placement of these identifiers on the vehicle, type of label, permanence, and visibility are out of scope for this document.

The scope of this ARP is as follows: Use of M&S for type certification of the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) aircraft, product, or system. However, this does not preclude this ARP being used for certification of other aircraft types and associated products and systems. This ARP is not applicable to flight simulation training device (FSTD) qualifications or pilot certification. If a qualified FSTD is proposed for aircraft, product, or system certification, it must demonstrate sufficient M&S substantiation to meet the related requirement. Structural design and modeling are not addressed by this document. EMI/EMC certification is not addressed by this document.

This specification covers the general requirements for red and white individual instrument lights. This document has been streamlined. Appendix A to MIL-L-5057F lists those documents required for MIL-L-5057F acquisition and is a mandatory part of MIL-L-5057F. Those documents listed in Appendix A have the same status as those referenced directly in MIL-L-5057F (first tier documents). All other documents, referenced through tiering, may be used as guidance and information to supplement MIL-L-5057F. This document’s scope is limited to lamp source designs solely. Furthermore, the use of red lighting should not be considered for new design and included within this document to support requirements for existing military aircraft that still operate with this system of lighting.
